The NeoShaker concept developed after learning about the basics of wood joinery from Materials & Techniques. Through my studies in this class I became fascinated with the traditional forms and techniques of the Shaker culture. They have a high value for simple forms, detailed craft, and elevated materials. I wanted to express these forms that I observed in new, modern materials and processes. I made two tables through this study: one entry table using bent metal, and one side table employing the use of poured concrete.
